A survey said that over half of you Brits think Ireland is on the same land mass as the UK and is not a island

Is this really true?

(by being on same land mass on UK I mean Ireland as an island, leaving out Northern Ireland)

I don't believe that is true. I was born and lived in Scotland for twenty years and never knew of anyone who thought that but of course who knows what the Sassenachs (English) think.
Reply:Ireland? Yeah. Isn't that a county next to Essex, shaped like a pint of Guinness and inhabited by leprecauns?

No. I'm English and even the most stupid people in England (of which I admit, there are many) don't think anything of the sort.

I'm wondering whether this is for real or just an excuse for Brit bashing.
Reply:no, i dont think so??
