How can I get a set of teach -yourself cds on land surveying, mapping and gis?

land surveying and mapping are the same as geomatics or geoinformatics depending on your country. I reside in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and need the cds for immediate purchase.

How can I get a set of teach -yourself cds on land surveying, mapping and gis?
Land surveying, mapping , and GIS are so Involved and diverse pending on the Software and Equipment that are used. Land Surveying can be done with a total station, lock level, GPS, clinometer/tape measure, etc. mapping can be done by hand, AutoCadd, MicroStation, PathFinder, EagleSoft, etc., and GIS can be done with ArcView, ArcGIS, etc. All Of these methods have their own manuals and courses. Not to mention the mathmatics, design engineering, computer skills, and legal aspects of all these things it would be impossible to cover them all in a DVD teach yourself type approach, even then you would not be able to get licensed or a seal. Education is the way to go.
Reply:Land surveying is very complex and requires a 4 year degree to become licensed in Florida, USA. It is doubtful that you could teach yourself land surveying from cds. I would suggest enrolling in a college if you are really interested in becoming a land surveyor.
