How can I stop sales calls on bt land line?

Reply:There is a link to the Mail Preference Service on that website that should stop postal rubbish too. Both take about a month to come in to full swing but you should notice an immediate cut back. After a month any calls can be reported to TPS. Don't forget this works for your mobile too! Report Abuse

Reply:Ring 150 and ask them to block calls from unknown numbers. Good luck
Reply:Phone BT they have a free service , ive done it and they remove your number from the lists, works a treat, and if you get the odd one that comes though tell them they are breaking the law, they soon get the hint not to call back
Reply:It's called the telephone preference service, and you can find details on the BT website.
Reply:contact BT and they will give u a number to ring so you can block them
Reply:Register on the site below, I get almost no calls now.
Reply:phone the telephone preference service! its number is in the phone book! its automated so leave your details and 28 days later they should stop! if they continue, get thecompanys name and report them to tps! big fine if they continue to phone!
Reply:telephone preference service, 084507 007 07 is an automated service, you can register free of charge for this service if you do not wish to receive direct marketing phone calls.
Reply:try telephone preferences which is 020 7291 3310

also for mail 0845 0700 707 .i guarantee that within a month it will stop
Reply:I had exactly the same problem and with junk mail, here is what i did.

as far as the junk mail goes you wont stop it completely but you can reduce it by a huge amount by registering with the mail preference service. third party company's have to check this list and are not supposed to send you unsolicited mail. If they do then you can complain to service who punish the company involved.

A similar thing is available for telephone cold calling. contact the " telephone preference service (TPS) the # is: 08450700707 I think you have to put it in writing and post to somewhere, but its worth it.
Reply:you can find out through the t.p.s. telephone preference service, not sure of address but i did it on line. dont stop new ones coming on though. just existing ones.. hope that helps.

And it actually works!
Reply:www.bt.com has the answers
Reply:go to bt.com and register with psr it works
Reply:You could use the phone preference service listed in the phone book they can also stop silent calls . Good service used it my self
Reply:Call BT and tell them you want to join the telephone preferance service (tps). They will sign you up and the calls should stop. However it will not happen straight away.
Reply:get put on your local do not call list it gets rid of telemarketers
Reply:phone BT on 150!

Reply:donotcall.gov In here you can register your phone's # and no body can call you for stupid sale calls for 5 years, pehaps if someone dares get the phone # of the company and the name and the date and hour they call you and you legally will able to report them in donotcall.gov I did it my self and they stopped calling me with the stupid offers.
Reply:Register on the site below. I used to receive between three and five spam calls every day (including BT), and since registering six months ago I have received none.

If any unwanted calls are received after you register they can take action against the caller.
Reply:use an answer machine
Reply:Call their help line, their is something they can do to stop it, call them and they will set it in motion
Reply:the best way is to answer the call and then say to them 'you need to speak to my mum/dad' then just leave the phone off the hook they will soon take you off their list.do this to all salescalls it is good fun anyway.
Reply:Give your sevice provider(bt ofr whoever you use) a call and ask for a TPS which mean telephone preferance service, this will put you onto a list where they cannot call you,if any sales calls come though after that you can take further action

I hope this is helpful.
